SHANJIXIANGwasborninBeijingin1954.HereceivedhisdoctoratedegreeinUrbanPlanningandDesignfromtheSchoolofArchitecture,TsinghuaUniversity,andstudiedinJapanfrom1980to1984.AfterhisreturntoChina,Dr.ShanheldseveralpostssuchasdeputydirectorofBeijingMunicipalAdministrationofCityPlanning,directorofBeijingMunicipalAdministrationofCulturalHeritage,directorofBeijingMunicipalCommissionofUrbanPlanning,anddirectoroftheStateAdministrationofCulturalHeritage.SinceJanuaryof2002,Dr.ShanhastakenuppositionsofdirectorofthePalaceMuseum,researchfellowofthePalaceMuseum,directorofChinaCulturalRelicsAcademy,andvicechairmanofChinaBuildingDecorationAssociation.
YANYONGwasbornin1968.In1989hegraduatedwithaBAdegreeinHistoryfromtheDepartmentofArchaeologyatJilinUniversityandenteredthePalaceMuseum.HethengraduatedfromtheMAProgramoftheInstituteofQingHistoryatRenminUniversityofChina.NowheistheassociatedirectoroftheDepartmentofPalaceLifeandImperialRitualofthePalaceMuseum,aresearchfellowofthePalaceMuseum,memberoftheAcademicCommitteeofthemuseum,aswellasthesecretary-generaloftheCommitteeofTextileStudiesofChinaCulturalRelicsAcademy.HisexpertiseincludesQingcourtattireandembroiderypaintingsofancientChina.
